A fashion film by Maximiliano Del masetto & Niamh Galea, with story, assemblage and editing by Andre Shannon & Jen Atherton. Inspired by Even Cowgirls Get The Blues, Debbie Does Dallas and Twentynine Palms some best friends decide to make a home-movie about two Texan Cowgirls who do a photoshoot in the back of a truck in exchange for a ride to Area 51 (not the alien base, the gay bar in Salt Lake City!). This found-fashion film is a meta-mashup of recycled scratch film, VR on a haunted LA bridge, digicam fashion footage and a 70s porno stolen from the Mafia (Look up Debbie Does Dallas copyright). Celebrating ethical appropriation, collaboration and celebration across an ocean. This is wanderlust made real - a dreamy road trip made across continents without ever leaving home, with an underlying melancholy just like the thwarted love story it’s based on - but don’t get too depressed because somewhere between the porn and horror that they are obsessed with is comedy, and that’s all they want at the moment.
