Big Grill Festival 2024 Reveals A Smoking Line-up Of Talent For The Festival’s 10th Anniversary

Chefs to fly in from Texas, New York, Newfoundland, Montréal, London and Paris, with more big names yet to be announced for Big Grill Festival 2024

Celebrating its 10th year on the festival circuit this summer, Big Grill BBQ and Food Festival will return to the lush green surrounds of Dublin’s Herbert Park from Thursday August 22nd to Sunday August 25th, 2024. Showcasing the very best Irish and international chefs, restaurants and barbecue experts across one action-packed weekend in the capital, Big Grill has become legendary for shining a spotlight on the skilful techniques, incredible versatility and pure magic that comes with cooking over live fire. And this year is shaping up to be the best yet!

In the first round of participating names announced today, Big Grill 2024 is delighted to welcome Canadian-born chef Laurent Dagenais who will be firing up the grill to showcase exactly why his creativity and one-of-a-kind approach to cooking has garnered over 4 million followers across his social channels.

Four more chefs making their Big Grill debuts this summer are Erica Parades, owner of Parisian restaurant Reyna, who focuses on marrying big Filipino and South East Asian flavours with a French twist, Sussex street food supremo and BBQ mama, Laura Sylvester from Boca Loco, and Melissa McCabe of Feast food truck, fresh from her finals journey representing Northern Ireland on this year’s Great British Menu. Also new to the festival this year is Budgie Montoya, head chef and founder of London’s Sarap, who will be delivering punchy and exciting Filipino flavours on the grill using the best of Irish and Asian ingredients.

Fying in from Canada for the weekend is Jeremy Charles, author of the acclaimed story and recipe book, Wildness, and widely known from his guest appearance on Anthony Bourdain’s series Parts Unknown. Jeremy is passionate about showcasing coastal products, indigenous ingredients and wild game. Head chef and co-owner of Raymonds, crowned Best Restaurant in Canada, he was also named Best Chef in Canada.

Every year Big Grill shines bright with American grilling talent and this year two of the most acclaimed top-tier BBQ chefs in Austin, Texas, will be flying into Dublin for one weekend only — Evan Leroy of Leroy & Lewis and Bradley Robinson from Chuds BBQ. A huge Big Grill favourite from last summer’s festival, beloved by millions, internet chef and former host of the popular Bon Appétit YouTube series It’s Alive, Brad Leone will be back in Dublin this August to host Brad & Friends, a full day takeover of the Bastecamp stage featuring a brilliant line-up of special guests sharing their wisdom on all things BBQ.

Also returning this summer will be Donegal-born Ben Quinn of Cornwall’s Woodfired Canteen who will bring his experience feeding hundreds of guests exceptional produce cooked over fire in beautiful locations all over Europe to OFFSIDE at Big Grill 2024, and Nick Weston and his crew of Hunter Gather Cook will also feature in OFFSIDE, with an exclusive Wild Dinner, and will give Bastecamp demos too.

BBQ expert Genevieve Taylor will be back, a woman who has literally written the book on barbecue — 12 of them so far, including the bestsellers Charred – A Complete Guide to Vegetarian Barbecue and Foolproof BBQ — who will give in-depth masterclass demos on the Bastecamp stage.

Other familiar faces in the food and BBQ world confirmed to appear at Big Grill this year include Andy Stubbs of Birmingham’s Low’n’Slow, Gubbeen’s Fingal Ferguson, Cian Mahon and Rama Basilio of Parrilla by Baste, DJ and festival host Marcus O’Laoire, chef Jordan & Majken Bailey, Killian Walsh of Bastible and Kevin O’Donnell, ex Kadeau in Copenhagen.

Restaurants feature too including Leroy & Lewis all the way from Austin Texas, Hang Dai, Bahay, Mani Pizza Happy’s, Crudo, Reyna, Smoke on The Water x Smokin Soul and, making the journey over from London, Cuepoint and From the Ashes Barbecue.

With more names to be announced and a bigger Little Grillers family line-up also being finalised, further information and tickets for Big Grill Festival 2024 are available on https://biggrillfestival.com
