SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- No. 3 Syracuse and No. 6 Yale will battle for a spot at Championship Weekend when they meet in the NCAA Women's Lacrosse Tournament quarterfinals on Thursday, May 16. Opening draw in the JMA Wireless Dome is set for 2:30 p.m.
 
Tickets for Thursday's game can be purchased at Cuse.com/tickets. The game will be broadcast on ESPNU and WJPZ 89.1FM in the Syracuse area. Live updates will also be available on social media (@CuseWLax).
 
ORANGE UPDATE
Syracuse (15-5) defeated No. 14 Stony Brook, 15-5, in the NCAA Tournament second round to advance to the quarterfinals. Emma Tyrrell and Olivia Adamson recorded six points apiece, while Kate Mashewske set a single-game school record with 20 draw controls.
 
'CUSE IN MAY
The Orange are the No. 3 seed in the NCAA Tournament. Syracuse earned a first-round bye for the third time since the tournament field expanded to 29 teams in 2021. 
 
Syracuse is making its 21st appearance in the NCAA Tournament. The Orange have an all-time record of 26-20 in tournament play. Syracuse is making its 14th appearance in the quarterfinals. The Orange are 9-4 in the round of eight, including 8-0 in Syracuse.
 
SCOUTING THE BULLDOGS
Yale (17-2) beat Johns Hopkins, 9-7, in the second round. The Bulldogs won both the Ivy League regular-season and tournament titles.
 
Jenna Collignon leads Yale in points (68) and goals (64), while Chloe Conaghan has dished out a team-best 29 assists. Cami Donadio started both games in goal last weekend for Yale. She has a 6.42 goals-against average and a .477 save percentage.
 
Yale ranks second in the nation in scoring defense, allowing 7.79 goals per game. The Bulldogs also rank fifth nationally in turnovers per game (11.84) and eighth in scoring margin (6.47).
 
SERIES HISTORY
Thursday's game marks the fourth overall meeting and second in NCAA Tournament play between Syracuse and Yale.
 
The first game between the squads came in Syracuse's inaugural season. The teams have met twice in postseason play. The Orange defeated the Bulldogs, 9-8, to claim the ECAC Championship in 1999.
 
Syracuse and Yale last played in 2003 in the first round of the NCAA Tournament in New Haven. The Bulldogs were victorious, 12-7.
