HANDBOOK HIGHLIGHT #34

As the school year winds down, we would like to remind families one more time about:

CLASS DUES

Students at Medfield High School must pay class dues each academic year. The monies collected reduce the need for class-sponsored fundraisers and subsidize the expense associated with class events.

Each student will be assessed class dues of $20 per year payable by check to Medfield High School. If a student fails to meet the obligation, they will not be permitted to attend school-sponsored activities until the dues obligation has been fulfilled.

In the event that class dues present a monetary hardship to a family, the student should contact an Assistant Principal.

For more information, please visit the MHS Student Handbook.

MHS PTO MEETING

YOUNG ADULT DOCUMENT SIGNING DAY

At the fall Open House, Attorney Deb Hedges (also a senior parent) shared important legal documents that students should sign after they turn 18. The documents are Power of Attorney, HIPAA, Health Care Proxy, and FERPA. The forms allow parents or guardians to continue to help make financial, legal, and health choices for their adult children after coming of age in Massachusetts. These forms should be signed before a Notary Public or witnessed by independent persons, or both.

We will provide the blank forms and help 18-year-olds understand how to fill them out.
