Warum bin ich so fröhlich, so fröhlich, so unbeschreiblich fröhlich, so fröhlich war ich nie!

Also, can we talk about how some childhood favourites are secret amine, like Heidi, Nils Holgersson and Bee Maja? I was surprised to learn it as an adult, they seem so quintessentially European in setting and source material.

Wickie the Viking, El Dorado, Pinochio Alice in Wonderland, Wonderful Wizard of Oz

Alfred J. Kwak was an insanely popular kid's show, that often talked about political themes like racism, fascism and environmentalism. It was popular in Europe in Europe and the Middle East, but never came to the US.

Here is some YouTuber talking about it: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Jm43-Ker0Kg

Whoa. I only know about this because LifeLover use a sample of Warum bin ich so fröhlich in one of their songs. So strange (as an American) to see this. The only context I've known this show is really messed up lol sorry. This is like a deep cut for me too but in a weird weird way.

It seems like this at first glance, but I would argue it isn't really. It just tries to explain messed up real world issues to kids in a childlike manner.

A good comparison for US audiences would be Captain Planet, which does something similar.
