Big 10 Stars Featured on New EA Sports College Football 25 Cover

The Playstation Store has supposedly leaked the cover of EA Sports College Football 25! Multiple Big 10 stars will be honored on the cover.

It’s finally here. EA Sports College Football 25’s Deluxe Edition cover has been revealed via the Playstation Store. There has been speculation as to which player(s) would join the ranks of greats like Reggie Bush, Tim Tebow, and Robert Griffin III, among others. There will likely be more than one cover. But the Deluxe Edition of the game seems to feature players from dozens of programs with a select few taking center stage.

The players who can be made out are Michigan’s Donovan Edwards, Texas’ Quinn Ewers, Colorado’s Travis Hunter, Ohio State’s Quinshon Judkins, Georgia’s Carson Beck, and Alabama’s Jalen Milroe. USC also has number 88 visible (redshirt freshman Kade Elridge?) as does Notre Dame with a number two (Jayden Harrison?).

With the expansion of the Big 10 to 18 teams, the conference is not bereft in cover-athlete-worthy talent. Since the game’s inception, six Big 10 faces have graced the cover (at least, Big 10 schools at the time of release). Before the hiatus, Michigan led the way with four cover athletes (Desmond Howard, Charles Woodson, Denard Robinson, and a generic player). Wisconsin had one (a marching band member) and Michigan State had one (Sparty, the mascot).

In terms of current Big 10 programs, USC had four covers (Tommy Trojan, Carson Palmer, Reggie Bush, Mark Sanchez). Oregon had one (Joey Harrington) and Nebraska had Tommie Frazier featured in 1997.

Easy Choices

When you think of the faces of the college football landscape in 2024, you’ll come up with the same names as EA Sports. Despite playing second fiddle to a 27-touchdown back like Blake Corum, Edwards has shown that he’s one of the more dynamic running backs in the game. He is set to fully take over the Michigan offense. With so much turnover, it’s going to look nothing like what it did in 2023. Edwards is a great bet to be among the elites. He will be vying for an All-American honor.

There was some surprise with the apparent election of Judkins from Ohio State. Of all of the star power returning to Columbus, selecting a transfer is interesting. Of all of the cover athletes, Judkins is the only one who has yet to take a snap for his team. If Ohio State was going to have an EA Sports College Football 25 cover athlete, TreVeyon Henderson, Emeka Egbuka, and Denzel Burke were the most popular names. Judkins is worth the honor, of course. He comes to Ohio State with 2,725 rushing yards and 31 touchdowns after two years in the SEC.

The new game does not have an official release date. However, insider Matt Brown has posited that July 19th is around the ballpark of the expected release. EA Sports College Football 25 is currently available for pre-order wherever you get your video games.
