KABUL (Pajhwok): Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Mullah Abdul Ghani Baradar says a proposal for construction of the second Kabul-Jalalabad lane has been sent to the supreme leader for approval.
Mullah Baradar made the remarks while inspecting the second road’s work affairs on Friday, said a statement from the Nangarhar governor’s house.
Accompanied by Foreign Minister Maulvi Amir Khan Muttaqi, Public Works Minister Maullah Issa Sani, governors of Kabul and Nangarhar Maulvi Aminullah Obaid and Mullah Mohammad Naeem Akhund respectively, Mullah Baradar visited the area on Friday, a statement from his office said.
The Deputy PM said the construction of this highway was their priority and a proposal had been sent to Amir-ul-Momeenin’s office.
The Deputy PM affirmed his commitment to prioritize the construction of the second Kabul-Jalalabad highway.
He underscored the significance of the Kabul-Jalalabad route as a vital commercial artery, witnessing daily transit by hundreds of cargo and passenger vehicles.
The second road starts from Surkhroad district and passes through other four districts and ends in Kabul.
