The struggle for Scottish independence spans centuries, marked by pivotal conflicts that shaped the nation's identity. Three significant wars stand out in this ongoing battle against English dominance: the Wars of Scottish Independence. These conflicts, spanning from 1296 to 1357, saw Scotland fiercely resisting English attempts at subjugation.

One critical moment unfolded at the Battle of Stirling Bridge in 1297. Led by the iconic William Wallace, the Scots faced overwhelming English forces. Despite being outnumbered, Wallace's tactical brilliance secured a stunning victory, bolstering Scottish morale and elevating Wallace to legendary status.

Another crucial event occurred at the Battle of Methven in 1306. Robert the Bruce, a complex figure in Scottish history, faced adversity as he vied for the throne. Despite setbacks, Bruce's resilience persevered, laying the groundwork for future triumphs.

The pinnacle came at the Battle of Bannockburn in 1314, where Robert the Bruce's strategic prowess sealed Scottish autonomy. Defeating King Edward II's forces, the Scots secured military control and paved the way for political negotiations, ultimately leading to the Treaty of Edinburgh-Northampton in 1328.
