Creating a Gmail and sending letters to baby
What do you guys think of this idea?
I thought about handwritten letters. But I think having a gmail for my daughter would be nice. I could send her videos, pictures, have close family members contribute to sending pictures. Then when she’s 16, I can give her the login information. I’ve seen this idea before but I am skeptical because who knows if we are still using emails in 16 years? What do you guys think! And how long can these emails be stored for?
I think its a great idea! you could always do hand written as a back up. To my knowledge emails can be stored until you delete them or run out of space and then you just don't get any incoming emails. I still have emails from 2018 if I scroll back far enough.
great idea!! I’ll use Gmail for more short emails and mainly for vlogs, videos, and photos! And I’ll have a physical journal for in depth letters.
I still have emails from 2008 on Gmail, so you definitely should be fine.

okay I’m sooo doing this! Very excited about it. I read somewhere to always log on every once in a while so that email doesn’t get deleted!
That is true, but I had a second gmail also from like 2008 or maybe even earlier that I had fully forgotten about and I only recently got a message that I should log inor otherwise it would be deleted. So that too can last a long time. And you will get an email with a message to notify you on whatever back up email address you give.
