Since then, IU has been a huge name in the South Korean music industry. She also began acting in K-dramas and has starred in Hotel Del Luna (2019), Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo (2016), and My Mister (2018), among others.

She sings remarkable OSTs for several k-dramas including the dramas she stars in. She has captivated her audience with not only her acting but her mesmerizing OSTs. Her soulful voice and emotive delivery have become synonymous with the emotional depth of the shows. IU has a remarkable ability to sing haunting ballads, uplifting anthems, and leave a lasting impact on viewers. Here are some of her songs that you can add to your playlist:

Someday - Dream High (2011)

Someday from the k-drama Dream High speaks about an unsure and shy person who does not believe in herself and her dreams. The upbeat song begins with an energetic melody and IU's beautiful vocals. It is a simple song without any frills or over-the-top harmonies. Its gorgeous melody and straightforward arrangement make it an easy listen. IU shows off her vocal strength, not by flaunting loud vocals, but by matching up with the melody without making the arrangement complicated.

Hold My Hand - The Greatest Love (2011)

Hold My Hand is the first song IU wrote and composed. It is an early song in her career that became incredibly popular in South Korea. The lyrics expresses longing and anticipation. IU perfectly follows the peppy beat and makes the song sound incredibly catchy. The best part is the chorus of the song, that repeats the phrase "hold my hand now."

My Dear Friend - Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo (2016)

IU sang My Dear Friend for the 2016 drama Moon Lovers: Scarlet Heart Ryeo where she starred as Hae Soo. The 3 minutes 40 seconds song speaks about being heartbroken while wondering about some beautiful moments spent with a friend. According to reports, IU wrote the song for T-ara’s Jiyeon who was having a hard time personally. However, the song featured in the drama's ending, when her character dies during childbirth.

I Give You My Heart - Crash Landing On You (2019)

The popular K-drama Crash Landing On You has many famous songs that have charted well in South Korea's music lists. IU's I Give You My Heart, which is about the time when a person finally realizes their true feelings for someone, is one of the most-played songs from the series. It properly depicts the relationship between the two main leads of the show, Ri Jeong Hyeok (Hyun Bin) and Yoon Seri (Son Yejin). The lyrics depict how feelings gradually grow between lovers and stay for years.

The song begins with whistling which eases us into the rest of the instrumental. The classic guitar instrument chimes in, followed by IU's breathy vocals. The chords and harmonies craft a wonderful melody without overpowering IU's lovely voice.

Our Happy Ending - Hotel del Luna (2019)

The K-drama Hotel del Luna is equal parts interesting and heartbreaking. IU starred in the drama as Jang Man Wol, who is the proprietor of a supernatural hotel. Interestingly, she also wrote and sang the song Our Happy Ending for the drama that depicts the painful reality of parting ways with one's lover. Before the release of the song, her agency noted, "It is a song that was created with no plans for an OST release since the beginning. It is a gift for the many fans who love Hotel Del Luna. Thank you for sending lots of love to the drama and ending song."
