Which rewritten Club Penguin is safest for kids?

Hello!

I wanted to introduce my nephew to Club Penguin, I think he'd really like it and we'd be able to play and bond over it together. I know there's a lot of different communities out there, but which one would you say is safest for an 8 year old? (in terms of chat, content, community, etc).

Thanks!

As safe as a CPPS might be, I highly doubt there are very many younger children playing. I'm guessing most of the community is comprised of adults.

Adding to your comment! Most of the community are adults. I often see people asking everyone’s ages while in the mines and 90% of the time, I see early to mid twenties and up. There are not too many kids playing. BUT that doesn’t mean a kid can’t still enjoy playing the games and such! I’m not sure if safe chat is still an option honestly, or I believe I saw that you can mute the chat?

Editing to mention that I use Journey

Agreed. A kid could still def play, but they shouldn't be expecting it to be an opportunity to chat and make friends with a bunch of people their age.

It's so cool that people in their twenties share this memory of the game and go back for the nostalgia but sad that it ended and other kids can't play it anymore like we used to. Back then I think it was almost all kids.

It really is! I’m 27 and I have so many memories from club p, as silly as it sounds. It’s comforting and relaxing to play again! I’m glad I am not alone in being an adult who enjoys playing it lol! But yes, it was definitely mostly kids back then!

You can’t even say snowballs on journey

You basically cannot use any negative adjective on CPJ lmao

I said “I hope your pillow is cold” to someone as like a thank you and got a temp ban🫤

What?? That makes so sense lmao. I’ve gotten plenty of warnings pop up, saying my message wasn’t allowed. You could probably email them about it if you haven’t already! They probably get a ton of people contacting them to say they didn’t deserve a ban lol

I have seen people say "LMAO" on CPJ multiple times, weird that this is allowed but many regular sentences get blocked

You can’t say awful sometimes either. Also April fools is blocked sometimes because of the “fool” part.

The filter is contextual but it does get frustrating imo.

What??

yep, now we know who watched Disney Junior addictively as kids if THAT'S what a restricted word example is

CP Journey

No one will ever have the safety methods that the original game had, no matter how any of the current game recreation advertises, either Journey or Legacy, etc. You could still sign up to one of them but at your own risk.

I mirror everyone else. CP Journey is very family friendy as well as being arguably the best server. I'd vote on that one

they wont rly be able to make friends as most people playing club penguing are ppl born in 00's looking for nostalgia

Journey I would say

Probably any of the ones with the same chat filters as the original Club Penguin, along with the inability to type numbers.

Journey. There’s always a mod in the room

Legacy is decent, the chat filter lets you know if your message doesn't send, and it's pretty strong without being as strict as Journey I'd say

Journey is the most friendly, though I will say I’ve had people make fun of me occasionally in game for asking them to not talk about certain topics (ones that definitely are not allowed in the game period) because kids may be playing. Most of the community is fine though

New CP is one I would stay clear of. The moment I joined it was full of people making sexual innuendo

I’m gonna be honest you’re basically going to be bringing him into an adult dominated space. People talk about drugs (on the lowkey), work, current events, etc. So maybe think about if you want to do that or not.

I mean it’ll probably be fine if the two of you play together. But also he likely won’t make other friends on the server and might feel isolated because a lot of topics of conversation tend to be more mature (not necessarily innappropriate).

I might suggest just finding another game you two can play together unless he’s already shown express interest in club penguin.

But if you do decide to try cp, Journey is pretty safe id say. I’ve never personally seen anything downright shocking or offensive. And the chat filters are heavy to maintain the original semblance of safety (and to keep the family friend brand so the server isn’t taken down).

Edit: I lied. I did see one person testing the chat filters on a new account. They were attempting to figure out how to say lowkey racial insults. But it wouldn’t have been obvious to someone unsuspecting I think.

But moderation on the server is good.

Journey

I'm on New Club Penguin!! And then I had another, I think, that was called Club Penguin legacy??
