In the wake of a hoarding collapsing during heavy rains and strong winds on Thursday, a case has been registered against its owner and the structure designer.

On the basis of a complaint filed by Gyanchand Hari Bhat, the MIDC Bhosari police station has registered a case against hoarding license holder Anand Ramanlal Gandhi (38), a resident if Maharshi Nagar, and structural designer Hemant Kumar Shinde, a resident of Katraj.

According to the police, the hoarding owner not only failed to take necessary precautions but also neglected to renew the hoarding certificate despite its expiration.

The police said that the hoarding, which belongs to Anand Publicity, measured 40 feet by 20 feet, was erected at Tapkirnagar in Moshi. The structure stability certificate for this hoarding had expired and was not renewed promptly.

Furthermore, no precautions were taken regarding its stability. The hoarding collapsed during heavy rain and strong winds, resulting in significant damage to three vehicles and a nearby shop. The MIDC Bhosari police are currently investigating the incident.
