If you like hiking, you can have a very pleasant one-day trip to Burg Plesse, walking through a forest and some fields. If you do that on Friday, Saturday, or Sunday you can even have a pleasant lunch/diner there with some beer and German food

Also, if you’re more inclined to the partying lifestyle - check out Barracuda

"Forum Wissen" is a modern museum about science. It's free. I like it.

Check the instagram 'goewasgeht' to know about a lot of local events and stuff. If you like museums take a look at 'Forum wissen' close to the trainstation. There are also two botanic gardens that are pretty nice and you might take a look at 'schillerwiesen' aswell, a nice park to hang out and maybe play a round of minigolf. For the full experience you should also hangout at 'wilhelmplatz' at night in a nice and sunny day. If you are up to fine dining take a ride to 'schillingshof' in groß schneen.

Edited

If you are into History of Science, do visit graves of Noble Laureates (such as Max Planck, Otto Hahn, Max Born etc.), Stadtfriedhof Göttingen. You will also find Gauss and Hilbert in Göttingen.

To get a nice view from of the city and mountains, you can do a little hike to Bismarckturm. It costs around 2 euros (cash only) to enter the tower.

  • do a trip to Kiessee to honor our lord and saviour the giant catfish who died for our sins and then to Baggersee near Rosdorf (on the weekend, when there are no workers) and take a splash

  • Get a beer at the Späti and sit on the Wilhelmsplatz on a warm summer evening

  • Kiss Gänseliesel

  • Go to Tenners when it's absolutely filled to the brim

  • Watch a play at Deutsches Theater or Theater im OP (Junges Theater is being renovated atm)

  • Go to the international Pub Quiz at the irish pub if that's still a thing with the new owner

  • In terms of clubs I would recommend Exil, Stilbrvch if there's anything happening and 1B, although Alpenmax and Savoy are both infamous

  • Go to the Forum Wissen (it's free)

  • See if you can get into the Uni Kino as a non student and watch a movie in a lecture hall for just a few euros (even better if it's science cinema with an expert having a small talk afterwards)

  • Get a guest card at a machine and eat at Zentralmensa or Turmmensa

  • Barbecue at Cheltenham Park

  • Order a Tiefseetaucher at the Nautibar

  • watch a game of BG Göttingen (Basketball) or Göttingen 05 (Football with real Ultras at the sideline)

  • Go to dots or Nörgelbuff when there is live music

  • Eat a Döner or Halloumitasche at the Dönermeile

  • Or eat a Döner at 3am after clubbing at Effes

  • Somehow try to get invited to a WG party

  • Go to Badeparadies Eiswiesen

  • Experience SUB Drehtür and hopefully not go to UMG afterwards
