Sara Ali Khan is the daughter of ex-couple, Saif Ali Khan and Amrita Singh. Walking in the footsteps of both her legendary actors parents, Sara too, entered the film business and made a niche for herself. However, if not an actress, Sara could have been a great professional too, as she studied history and political science at the prestigious Columbia University in New York. However, destiny had other plans for her. After graduating in 2016, she underwent rigorous weight training for one and a half years and then returned to India. Following this, she began her acting journey with the 2018 film, Kedarnath.
Now, we stumbled upon an old interview of Saif Ali Khan with DNA, shared by a Reddit user. In the interview, Saif was heard opening up about his dissatisfaction with his daughter, Sara Ali Khan, who chose acting as a profession. He mentioned that the film career was too risky, which was why he never wanted her to enter such an unstable profession. Further, mentioning that she shouldn't have left New York and had done something better there, the doting father added:
”Why would she want that for herself? Look at where she studied. After having done that, why wouldn’t she want to live and work in New York, rather than do this? (I am) A little nervous. Fear is the most driving factor in the industry. I am not looking down on acting, it’s just it is not the most stable profession. And everyone lives in constant fear. And there is no guarantee that despite doing your best, you will succeed. This is not the life, any parent would want for their children.”

Sara made her Bollywood debut with Abhishek Kapoor’s directorial, Kedarnath, wherein she was seen in a lead role opposite late actor, Sushant Singh Rajput. However, in the same conversation, when Saif was asked if he was involved in his daughter's debut, he denied it completely. He mentioned that she never asked about any such help from him and added:
“No, I wasn’t involved in it. Look, I am there if she needs to ask or talk to me about anything. I know what she is doing and we talk about films just like we do about everything else.”
As soon as the Reddit user teased the topic of Saif's take on Sara's profession, netizens started reacting to the same. Many users commented that Sara could have done something way better in New York with her degree rather than joining Bollywood. However, a section of netizens also mentioned how Saif, being an actor, should not show such dissatisfaction towards the profession. Many others also cited the example of Sara's bua, Soha Ali Khan, who confessed in many interviews that she joined Bollywood only for the sake of higher payments despite studying in a prestigious college in London.

A few months back, Sara Ali Khan joined hands with her father, Saif Ali Khan on an advertisement project for the first time. On July 27, 2023, the actress shared a clip from one of their ads on her IG handle. The video, which showed a contrast between a millennial and a Gen X mindset when it came to insurance decision-making. She was seen getting out of the car in the video, after which Saif asked her if she took insurance for her brand-new ride. In response, Sara agreed and explained a new-age insurance policy that can be easily taken. Sharing the video, the actress penned a hilarious note for her father that could be read as:
"Changing my dad's mood from to in 30 seconds! Watch how I surprised my dad with big savings! Tajurba chahe kuch bhi kahe, mein toh kehti hu Car insurance ho lena toh, ACKO check kar lena."
