It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Betty Mae Harris Jackson (Renton, Washington), born in Yakima, Washington, who passed away on May 3, 2024, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, George Harris and Mamie Harris; her grandmother Mable Harris; and her daughter Esther Bryant-Kyles (Edwin J. Kyles, Jr.). She is survived by : her siblings, Irene Griggs of St. Louis, MO, Patricia Green of Seattle, WA and George Harris, Jr. of St. Louis, MO; her son Paul A. Lowe, Jr.; and her granddaughters, Ashton and Ariana Lowe.

A celebration of life was held on Monday, May 13th 2024 at 11:00 AM at the First African Methodist Episcopal Church (1522 14th Ave, Seattle, WA 98112).

She was recognized for her contributions to President Obama's election by being selected to be a special delegate to the 2008 Democratic National Convention in Denver, Colorado, and attendee at the 2009 Inauguration of President Barack Obama.
