Chris Pratt is on the verge of helming yet another new franchise with the release of The Garfield Movie, a reimagining of the classic cartoon strip cat created by Jim Davis. A far cry from his difficult earlier years as an actor, Chris Pratt now stands at the forefront of some of the most lucrative franchises of the last several years. From the Marvel Cinematic Universe to the Jurassic World movies, these are the best franchises that feature Chris Pratt as their leading man.

Chris Pratt headlines the foundation of a new action-thriller franchise for Prime Video in The Terminal List. The 2022 series based on Jack Carr's novel of the same name follows Navy SEAL James Reece as he seeks vengeance on the people who murdered his family. Prime Video is currently in the process of making Season 2 of The Terminal List, as well as a prequel series revolving around Taylor Kitsch's character from the original show.
Although The Terminal List is still in its infancy, the series has already created quite a divide between audiences and critics. Critics mostly disliked the first season of the series, whereas fans rated it with abnormally high marks. Prime's epic action series has plenty of potential, but for now remains one of Chris Pratt's least recognizable franchises.

Before Chris Pratt was a household name, he led a massive ensemble cast in The Lego Movie. The film, set in a world built out of Lego bricks, stars Emmett Brickowski, an unremarkable construction worker who accidentally convinces an elite team of Master Builders that he is the fulfillment of a longstanding prophecy. After stumbling his way into saving the universe, Emmett eventually returns for the 2019 sequel, but not before Warner Bros. capitalized on the franchise with two spinoff films.
Although the franchise got off to a great start, the Lego films tapered off after only about five years. Ultimately, the studio tried to capitalize on the franchise too quickly, giving audiences way more Lego films than they needed in too short a time. Even so, the original Lego movie remains a terrific film with plenty of rewatch value. Even though it may have come to an early end, there is still plenty to love about the Lego Movie franchise. Moreover, things may not be as dour as they seem, with recent reports suggesting that there could still be additional films in The Lego Movie franchise.

A sequel series to the hit Jurassic Park films, Jurassic World features more dinosaur action than its predecessors. The trilogy, which ran from 2015 to 2022, stars Chris Pratt as Owen Grady, an animal-loving ex-Navy SEAL who finds himself in the middle of multiple dinosaur attacks after the animals escape the Jurassic World theme park. Together with Bryce Dallas Howard's Claire Dearing, Owen combats those who would use the dinosaurs for their own selfish gain.
Jurassic World is certainly Pratt's biggest spectacle franchise, even if it isn't his best. The Jurassic World films were largely panned by critics for tonal inconsistency and sloppy writing. Even so, the incredible CGI and epic action mostly made up for the trilogy's lack of substance, with all three movies earning over $1 billion at the global box office. Despite the financial success of his films, it is unclear whether Pratt will return for Jurassic World 4, which is set to hit theaters in 2025.

One of Chris Pratt's newer franchises, Super Mario Bros, is based on the iconic Nintendo video game series of the same name. The first film follows Mario and Luigi, two plumbers from Brooklyn who are transported to the fantastical Mushroom Kingdom, where they are thrust into an adventure to help Princess Peach save her people from the villainous Bowser. As one of the biggest films of 2023, it was no surprise that a sequel to The Super Mario Bros Movie was announced shortly after its release.
The Super Mario Bros. Movie may not have been a critical hit, but fans absolutely adored its dazzling visuals and fun voice acting. Although Chris Pratt was a controversial casting choice for Mario, the film works surprisingly well, leaving audiences hungry for more. With a sequel on the way and potential spinoffs in the forms of other Nintendo adaptations on the horizon, this could be the birth of a very successful new franchise.

1 Guardians Of The Galaxy Is An Emotional Masterpiece
Chris Pratt leads the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise as Peter Quill, a.k.a. Star-Lord, a human who was abducted by aliens as a child and raised as a space pirate. He eventually joins forces with a group of other space-bound misfits and losers to form the Guardians of the Galaxy. Together, they save the planet Xandar from utter destruction and go on to complete multiple missions, including some alongside the Avengers. In addition to the three Guardians of the Galaxy films (plus a Disney+ Special Presentation), Pratt plays Star-Lord in three additional films, including Avengers: Infinity War, Avengers: Endgame, and Thor: Love and Thunder. Rumor also maintains that he will play a role in Phase 6 of the MCU.
Thanks in large part to the contributions of writer-director James Gunn, the Guardians of the Galaxy franchise is perhaps the best in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie's heavy focus on found family and making the most of one's shortcomings makes it an emotional masterpiece the likes of which is utterly unique in the superhero genre. Pratt delivers a terrific performance throughout the franchise as Peter Quill, leaving fans hopeful that they will see more of Star-Lord after Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Nevertheless, the actor can rest easy knowing that his first major Hollywood franchise will always be his best.
