What are Custom Notification Sounds?
This feature is only available to a select number of users.
You must have a Nitro membership in order to set a custom notification sound.
Custom notification sounds allow you to customize the notification sound you hear from a server, direct message, or group chat. You can select between:
- Discord Default
- Power up!
- Twinkle
- Quack
- Bloop
How to set a Custom Notification Sound
This feature is only available on the desktop app and desktop browser. It is currently not available through mobile.
Server
Option 1
1. Navigate to the server that you want to change the custom notification sound in.
2. Then, right-click on the server avatar, select Notification Settings, and then select Notification Sound.
3. Here, you can pick your custom notification sound and you can choose between: Discord Default, Power up!, Twinkle, Quack, or Bloop. By selecting each one you can preview the sound it plays.
4. After you’ve selected your chosen sound, you can tap out of the settings page and your sound will be saved.
Option 2
1. Navigate to the server that you want to change the custom notification sound in.
2. Tap on the server name at the top and then tap on Notification Settings.
3. Here you can select which sound you would like. You can choose between: Discord Default, Power up!, Twinkle, Quack, or Bloop. By selecting each one you can preview the sound it plays.
4. After you’ve tapped on the sound you’d like to save, tap on Done to save the changes.
Direct Message/Group Chat
1. Navigate to the direct message or group chat message you want to change the custom notification sound in.
2. Then, right click and navigate to Notification Sound.
3. Here you can pick your custom notification sound and choose between: Discord Default, Power up!, Twinkle, Quack, or Bloop. By selecting each one you can preview the sound it plays.
4. After you’ve selected your chosen sound, you can tap out of the settings page and your sound will be saved.
