‘Timeless princess’ Alia Bhatt adorns Sabyasachi saree at Met Gala 2024. See pics

After making her Met Gala debut in 2023, Bollywood actor Alia Bhatt once again graced the green and white carpet of the prestigious international annual fashion event on Tuesday, May 7. She attended the Met Gala 2024, wearing a Sabyasachi couture saree. The actor kept in sync with this year's dress code, ‘The Garden of Time’, as she wore a hand-embroidered floral saree with a long trail.

Photos capturing Alia's glorious carpet moment were shared on social media. Before stepping on the carpet, the actor spoke to Ashley Graham and shared her experience of being at the gala event for the second time.

"I am feeling great and very excited. It is my second time at the Met Gala, but it is the first time I am wearing a saree. When I thought of the dress code, 'The Garden of Time', it needed something timeless and there is nothing more timeless than a sari," said Alia.

As pictures of Alia surfaced on social media, fans were in awe of her beauty. One of them wrote, "No ONE comes close to this. (sic)" Another added, "Ate this look. No one could have done better." A comment also read, "My God, I screamed when I saw her!!! (sic)"

Alia also shared her picture on Instagram and wrote, "Met set go."

Alia also posted pictures of herself from Met Gala 2024 and shared how creating her sari took "1965-man hours". As she shared the photos, her mother Soni Razdan called her a "timeless princess".

Alia Bhatt was spotted at Mumbai's Kalina airport on Sunday, May 5th, as she left for New York. While departing, she smiled and waved at the photographers who were stationed at the airport.

Last year, Alia was dressed in a Prabal Gurung ensemble as she walked the red carpet at the Met Gala 2023. She adhered to the theme of the event, “Karl Lagerfeld: A Line of Beauty”, which celebrated the life and work of the celebrated designer Karl Lagerfeld.

Alia Bhatt had a remarkable 2023, with the commercial success of 'Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani'. She also made her Hollywood debut with 'Heart of Stone'.

The Met Gala, curated by former Vogue editor Anna Wintour, brings together the who's who of the fashion and entertainment industries on the first Monday of May each year. Hosted by the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City, it's a prestigious event renowned for its star-studded guest list.

This year, besides Alia, Chris Hemsworth, Jennifer Lopez, and Zendaya, were among those who attended Met Gala 2024.
