The Louisville Metropolitan Police Department (LMPD) are reportedly planning to 'drop the charges against Scottie Scheffler' at the start of next week.
The world No 1 was arrested in the early hours of Friday morning in what turned out to be chaotic situation outside Valhalla Golf Club.
Scheffler was attempting to get into the course when he attempted to bypass police following an accident earlier in the morning where a man was killed after being hit by a shuttle bus.
He was stopped by police and taken away in handcuffs where he faced charges of second-degree assault on a police officer, third-degree criminal mischief, reckless driving and disregarding signals from officers directing traffic.

Louisville police released a mugshot of Scheffler to the public before he was released in time for his second-round tee time at the PGA Championship.
They also released a report of the arrest which said detective Bryan Gillis was dragged to the ground by Scheffler's car and he suffered pain, swelling and abrasions.
However, it appears as though the LMPD won't be pushing forward with the charges against Scheffler.
According to golf reporter Kevin Van Valkenburg, Jefferson County prosecutors are set to drop all charges against Scheffler.
The 27-year-old is set to be arraigned at 9am local time on Tuesday morning, where it's expected he will be acquitted.
Scheffler's legal team have already made it clear that they were expecting the charges to be dropped.
Scheffler’s attorney Steve Romines called the incident a 'miscommunication' and is prepared to go to trial if the prosecutors press forward with the charges.
"They'll either be dropped or we'll go to trial because he didn't do anything wrong," he said.

"So, we're not interested in any sort of settlement negotiations or anything like that. It was just a big miscommunication.
"There had been a traffic fatality down the road and so there were differing traffic directions going on and traffic control officers were advising different things.
"Scottie was advised by one officer to go around and turn left into the facility. But the officer who charged him obviously didn't know that. So, that's where the miscommunication occurred."

Scheffler impressively carded a five-under-par round of 66 when he returned to the PGA Championship on Friday to put him in contention at the top of the leaderboard.
However, he struggled to replicate the following day after hitting five bogeys and a double bogey along with five birdies.
That left him at seven-under-par for the tournament and eight shots off the lead heading into Sunday.
