WEST MONROE, La. (KTVE/KARD) — On May 18, 2024, at 10 PM, the West Monroe Police Department responded to Thomas Road in reference to a domestic disturbance involving a firearm. When officers arrived, the suspect, 20-year-old Cameron Hendrix, was reportedly fleeing the scene on foot.

The Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office was able to eventually apprehend Hendrix and transport him back to the scene. Hendrix allegedly confessed to taking a victim’s phone and running from the scene.

According to the victim, Hendrix had threatened her with a gun and claimed he would kill her before taking off down the street. The victim was believed she was in actual danger and contacted the West Monroe Police Department.

According to reports, Hendrix and the victim live with his mother on Keller Street. The victim continued by saying that Hendrix was violent towards her earlier that night by hitting her on the forehead.

Hendrix was arrested and transported to the Ouachita Correctional Center for booking. He is charged with Armed Robbery and two counts of Domestic Abuse Aggravated Battery. Hendrix’s bond is set at $70,000.
