From an emotional break up to a dramatic birth, Thursday’s (May 16) episode of EastEnders had plenty to offer – but it wasn’t just the high-stakes drama that got fans talking, as the episode was packed to the brim with hilariously camp moments.

With the whole square in fancy dress, it was always going to be hard to keep a straight face, and EastEnders totally embraced the opportunity to show off its comedy chops.

Unsurprisingly, the campest line of all came from none other than the icon herself, Sharon Watts (Letitia Dean), when she told Zack to, ‘Put your knickers on, you’re having a baby!’

Poor Zack was dressed only in a towel and covered in whipped cream – classic stag do behaviour – when he got the exciting news, moments after having casually told a horrified Linda Carter (Kellie Bright) that he’d had sex on her sofa.

Over in the hospital. Bianca Jackson (Patsy Palmer) had us in stitches as she stole Whitney Dean’s (Shona McGarty) gas and air, which clearly had the desired affect on her.

Of course, special mentions must go to Zack questioning if Martin Fowler (James Bye) had come dressed as haemorrhoids, and Honey Mitchell (Emma Barton) embodying all of us when she pointed out how fantastic Cindy Beale (Michelle Collins) looked.

And we can’t forget Kat Slater (Jessie Wallaca) stealing a roll of toilet paper from Walford East, and Elaine Peacock (Harriet Thorpe) assuming Bianca – who was not in costume – was dressed as Vicky Pollard from Little Britain.

Fans were quick to take to social media to show their joy at the hilarious episode, with some citing it as the best episode ‘in a long while’.

Elsewhere in the episode, things weren’t as joyous for poor Elaine, who gave George Knight (Colin Salmon) his marching orders after revealing that she knew all about his kiss with Cindy.

Meanwhile, Nugget Gulati (Juhaim Rasul Choudhury) left Denzel Danes (Jaden Ladega) shocked when he asked for some of his steroids, while Alfie Moon (Shane Richie) tried and failed to admit his true feelings for Kat.

Following the birth of baby Dolly Dean-Hudson, things grew even more worrying for cheating Zack and Lauren Branning (Jacqueline Jossa) when Britney Wainwright (Lola Campbell) overheard them discussing their betrayal.

Thankfully she kept quiet in front of Whitney, but she didn’t hold back on the glares she shot at Zack.

Though everyone was in high spirits during this episode, we’re not sure how much longer that will last, as Zack and Lauren’s massive secret threatens to come spilling out…
