Les Savy Fav brought a little bit a lot of chaos to their rendition of “World Got Great” on Late Night with Seth Myers on Wednesday night.

The occasion was a particularly special one for the New York City indie punk band. By day, Bassist Syd Butler and guitarist Seth Jabour are members of Seth Meyers’ house band, the 8G Band. You wouldn’t guess they were the tenured employees based on the performance, however, because vocalist Tim Harrington was the one strutting across the studio like he owned the building.

The band raced through the scorching “World Got Great,” a cut from their recent album and first offering of new music in over a decade, Oui, LSF. Harrington arrived donned in a zany look, and as usual in Les Savy Fav, changed costumes mid-performance. He also made his way over to Seth’s desk at one point, grabbing a pencil and playing “host” while howling into the microphone. Watch the performance below.

Les Savy Fav are no stranger to Late Night with Seth Myers, given Butler and Jabour’s presence in the show’s house band — they last played in 2019 to celebrate the 20th anniversary of Frenchkiss Records, which Butler started in 1999.
