Tweed and marinière—Valentino’s fall 2024 collection is a harmonious blend of sartorial and experimental codes. Unravelling over three chapters, each curation plays into a distinct moodboard, contributing to the rich diversity of the fall selection. The first curation centres around colours like navy and ivory, presented alongside classic elements like tweed and stripes. The Valentino scallop also makes its return on vibrant daywear pieces.
The second chapter reveals a more vibrant collection such as bright colours and lightweight fabrics coupled with ornate embroideries, and decorative VLogo embellishments. Flowy dresses that are no stranger to the maison, are also adorned with scallop and bow detailing. The delicate bow style extends to mini belts, dresses and even neckline details. The last chapter of the fall collection closes with an interweave of sartorial tradition with heavy fabrics. Juxtaposed by the previous chapter’s vibrancy, the collection plunges into twilight with a curation of darker pieces. Archival prints and simulated fur patterns also add a sophisticated touch to the curation.
Complementing the ready-to-wear pieces are the Valentino fall 2024 collection’s range of accessories. The line-up introduces completely fresh designs, alongside favourites like the Rockstud Spike, Roman Stud and Locò. The house’s classic Valentino Garavani VLogo Moon bag is also reintroduced in new variations, sporting its signature chain on the new handbags. New daytime and leisurewear pieces also add on to the curation, made versatile to incorporate into any look.
When it comes to the collection’s footwear, the Valentino Garavani shoes are adorned with motifs including the quintessential VLogo and Rockstud, across the pump and sandal silhouettes. The range also brings in fresh designs of the Valentino Garavani VLogo Locker mary-jane as well as formal shoes.
Just in time to celebrate this collection, the newly renovated Valentino boutique has just opened its doors at Marina Bay Sands. Lavish marble floors composed of Bottinico and Sahara Noir green onix welcomes clients into the hospitable space. Elegantly melding artisanal aesthetic and quiet luxury, this new store concept is synonymous with Valentino’s identity as Maison de Couture.
