Port Moresby brethren join hands cleaning Ela Beach

Members of the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church Of Christ) in the Local Congregation of Port Moresby, Papua New Guinea, which is under the supervision of the Ecclesiastical District of Australia West, conducted a clean-up activity at Ela Beach, Port Moresby’s popular public beachfront, on April 21, 2024.
Led by Brother Mark Jayson Montes, resident minister, the said socio-civic activity was organized by the congregation’s Christian Family Organizations (CFO) officers.
The brethren geared themselves with cleaning materials, which were sanitary gloves, rake, and garbage bags, then picked up rubbish and sea debris, among other kinds of waste, segregated, and disposed these properly.
“It’s fulfilling being part of this endeavor,” said Ronnie Romero, a deacon. “I continue being united with the Church Administration in all other activities being launched.”
The brethren had their INC Giving shirts on while cleaning up, as “today’s event is our part of the Church-wide INC Giving project,” said Brother Montes. Thus, “it even served as a way of introducing the Church Of Christ to the community through the unity among its members,” he added.
Formerly known as Era Kone or Turtle Beach, the beach is about 8.5 kms away from the said congregation’s house of worship. — With reports from Quiza Quiñola of INC News Section
