Rylan Clark's co-star says 'friendship has turned to love' as they walk the red carpet together

Rylan Clark and his co-star Rob Rinder made a dazzling appearance at the BAFTA Television Awards, fresh off the back of Rylan's stint at the Eurovision Song Contest.

The 35 year old TV personality was among the esteemed guests at the ceremony held at London's Royal Festival Hall on Sunday.

Rylan had just jetted back to the UK after his engagement in Sweden for the previous night's song contest. He was joined at the BAFTAs by his friend and fellow presenter Rob Rinder, 45, who recently hinted that the pair could be more than just friends.

The dynamic duo presented the award for Daytime together and posed for snaps on the red carpet. Both were looking dapper in suits comprising white shirts, black jackets, matching trousers and black shoes.

Their appearance at the event came just before the launch of their new show, Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour, on BBC Two later that evening. The three-part series sees them touring Italy, following in the footsteps of poet Lord Byron on the 200th anniversary of his death, reports the Express.

Inspired by Byron's 'Grand Tour' centuries ago, the show teases: "The Grand Tour was a cultural odyssey designed to turn young upper-class Brits into civilised, educated gentlemen. So will it have the same effect on Rob and Rylan?"

The pair, who reportedly shared a divorce lawyer after their marriages ended, have been busy promoting their new show. They've been exchanging heartfelt compliments in the lead-up to its premiere.

Rylan took to social media on Sunday to declare his excitement for their new show, saying: "Tonight our new show starts at 9pm on BBC Two and iPlayer. It was so special. This man has become family to me because of this experience. It really is a show like no other and we're so proud of it. Hope you enjoy."

Adding his bit, Rob quoted Lord Byron about friendship turning into love: "'Friendship may and often does, grow into love.' Byron .. See you alongside him 9pm tonight @BBCTwo."

Rylan recently addressed the romance rumours with Rob, as he hit out on social media in a bid to protect his mum Linda. Taking to X, the former X Factor star said: "To the journalist that just doorstepped my mum at her house, as polite as you were, please don’t.

"She said you were a lovely man but she’s 71 years old and it makes me feel slightly uncomfortable. The answer is no. I’m not dating Rob Rinder; he’s one of my closest friends. Next time tweet me. Thanks."

Catch the Rob and Rylan's camaraderie in 'Rob and Rylan's Grand Tour', running every Sunday at 9 pm on BBC Two. Available to watch on BBC iPlayer also.
