Graham Nash made a surprise appearance at The Music Of Crosby, Stills & Nash benefit concert on Monday at Carnegie Hall in New York City. Last night’s concert was the 19th annual The Music Of tribute organized by impresario Michael Dorf.

Songs from the CSN catalog were performed at Carnegie Hall by an impressive and diverse roster of artists including Real Estate, Grace Potter, Neal Francis, Steve Earle, Guster, Sarah Jarosz, Yola, Todd Rundgren and more. Longtime CSN keyboardist Todd Caldwell served as the musical director for the evening and led a house band that also featured multi-instrumentalist Adam Minkoff, vocalist/keyboardist Michelle Willis, guitarist Thad DeBrock, bassist Chris Bruce and drummer Josh Dion.

Graham Nash emerged late in the concert to sing “Our House.” Nash was accompanied by Caldwell on piano as well as Minkoff and Willis on backing vocals. The legendary musician prompted the crowd to sing the middle of “Our House” and the audience complied at full volume.

Other highlights included Francis’ version of “Chicago,” Taylor Meier of Caamp‘s “Just A Song Before I Go,” Guster putting their own spin on “Military Madness,” Yola belting out “Wooden Ships” and Steve Earle powering through “4 + 20.” All net proceeds will go towards a variety of non-profit organizations dedicated to music education.
