New Release: ST12 Series Push-push microSD™ Card Connector

May 14, 2024

JAE has developed and released the ST12 Series of push-push microSD card connectors, intended for compact ICT (Information Communication Technology) devices such as smartphones, tablet PCs, and portable gaming devices.

push-push microSD card connectors

In smartphones, tablets, portable gaming devices and other compact ICT (Information Communication Technology) devices, microSD(*1) cards are widely used as external storage media to save data and expand functionality, and they are expected to be used in an even broader array of devices in the future.

In the ST12 Series inspection and repair is made easier through the use of external SMT leads,(*2) which are visible and accessible to improve product repairability. Also, the mechanical locking structure (*3) prevents dislodgement of cards due to vibration or physical shock, and the multiple hold-downs (*4) ensure secure retention of the connector to the PCB.

*1 microSD™ is a trademark of the SD Association.
*2 External SMT lead: A structure in which soldered terminals are on the outer side. This facilitates detachment for inspection or repair.
*3 Mechanical locking structure: A structure that provides mechanical locking through the use of “stopper” and “lock” components. Strong against vibration and physical shocks.
*4 Hold-down: Metal fittings to reinforce the board retention
