EAST PROVIDENCE, R.I. (WPRI) — High school students from all across the state will receive Civics Leadership Awards on Friday from Secretary of State Gregg Amore.

The yearly ceremony honors two juniors from every Rhode Island high school who demonstrated excellence through public service, academic achievement, and/or leadership.

“The Civic Leadership Awards are a great opportunity to recognize the hard work and talents of some of Rhode Island’s most civically engaged students,” Amore said in a press release. “Congratulations to this year’s winners. I wish you much success in your academic and professional pursuits, and I encourage you to continue to prioritize civic and community engagement in your futures.”
