A Vicious Circle: Exclusive Preview of the Beautifully Bloodsoaked Series Finale

The hit series returns for its final chapter in August 2024.

BOOM! Studios' A Vicious Circle is undoubtedly one of the most visually stunning comics on the stands. Now the end of this series is finally in sight, as writer Mattson Tomlin and artist Lee Bermejo reunite for the third and final chapter in this high-concept, blood-soaked adventure.

IGN can exclusively debut a new preview of A Vicious Circle #3 ahead of its August 2024 release. Get a closer look at this gorgeous comic in the slideshow gallery below:

For those who aren't familiar with the series, A Vicious Circle focuses on Shawn Thacker, a futuristic assassin in pursuit of his rival Ferris. Both men are cursed with a unique ability - whenever they take a life, they immediately travel backward or forward through time. Each new era is rendered by Bermejo in a unique artistic style. The series traces their rivalry as Thacker fights to destroy a device that could alter human history, while Ferris seeks to activate it.

Here's Boom's official description for issue #3:

After stunning revelations come to light about Ferris’ origins and Earth’s dark future, Thacker and his former prisoner forge an alliance they never could have expected…

When they return to the beginning, will these rivals finally close the circle, or is the bloodshed destined to continue forever?

A Vicious Circle #3 will be released on August 7, 2024.

Bermejo's recent comics work also includes Batman: Dear Detective, a graphic novella that repurposes many of his earlier Detective Comics covers to tell a new story through images and prose.

For his part, Tomlin is keeping busy on the Hollywood side of things. In addition to working on the screenplay for The Batman 2, Tomlin is developing a Game of Thrones spinoff centered around Aegon the Conqueror and created and executive produced the upcoming Terminator Zero anime series.
