I believe this just hit atl price of $1200 but with the promo code we can get it down to $1100

So pros of this MSI vs Samsung's G9 OLED is this MSI offers 3 year burn in warranty, the usbc has power delivery, and it has KVM. It's also a bit cheaper even after Samsung student discount and 5% discount in the app. That being said the Samsung is 240hz.

Promo code - TECH10

Sold by MSI directly!

If this is the same panel as the samsung g9 oled, that's pretty good.

The panel is a sister panel also made by Samsung. They're very similar but not exactly the same.

Imo I don’t think this is worth the savings compared to the Samsung. It’s half the refresh rate and also plastic construction vs the metal oled g9, g9 also seems to have a better looking stand that takes up less space.

Only benefit of this guy seems to be KVM which oled g9 does not have.

The 3 year burn in coverage alone makes the MSI worth considering. The info I see indicates terrible burn in coverage for the G9.

That’s fair, although I am not sure how good MSI warranty would be, most of these PC OEMs have have horror stories when it comes to getting them to honour their warranty.

For me half the refresh rate is instant dealbreaker. I have both 144 and 240hz monitors and there is definitely a difference.

The G9 was 1300 two weeks ago and I am kicking myself for missing out on it. Will keep waiting. :)

The G9 OLED is $1263.49 right now via SPC discount stack with 5% samsung shop app 1st purchase discount.

I don't necessarily think one is better than the other though. For those worried about burn in and want KVM then MSI probably the way to go. If you want the 240hz then go samsung.

Plus I don't think this is exclusively a gaming monitor. It would be great for creative work where 240hz is unnecessary IMO. These types may really want that usbc w/ pd if they move their laptop around a lot.

240 hz is also arguable not important for gaming either, just some marketing number.

I love my G9 and with PowerToy Fancy zone and mouse short cut on Windows snapping, it is an excellent 3 Windows setup productivity-wise.

The 1800R curve is also great, I find 1000R way too curved for productivity.

240hz vs 144hz is a big difference, not just a marketing number. The avg total response time of the oled g9 is almost half that of this monitor when measured by hardware unboxed (the video OP linked.) It is misleading to dismiss 240hz as just marketing.

240hz IS important for gaming.

I would be hesitant to trust MSI's warranty. My cousin bought a top of the line MSI notebook (3090) 2 years ago, and about 8 months in the fan died. It was impossible getting any help. so we ended up ordering a replacement and doing it ourselves.

I have a 240hz monitor and don't rly know much of a difference tbh

1080p to 1440p is a big difference, but please don't over hype 240hz.
