Rex (s/t) 1976
A band fronted by singer Rex Smith who went on to have a succesful career
as a solo artist, in stage musicals and as an actor.
This is my remastered mp3 copy of the only album released under the 'Rex' banner.
It's decent melodic hard rock with some good guitar riffs
and a cover of The Who's 'Can't Explain' thrown in just for fun.
When Rex Smith sings in his higher range he reminds me of Geddy Lee.
A good looking guy with a great voice who was determined to succeed.
I should hate him but somehow I don't.
Wish Rex had not focused so much on single-length songs
as it would have been nice to hear the band stretch out a bit.
