Bali: Head coach Song Sung Gwon was over the moon after his charges delivered as DPR Korea edged Japan 1-0 to lift the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup™ Indonesia 2024 trophy on Sunday.

Bali: Korea Republic’s Casey Phair saved her best for last at the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup™ Indonesia 2024, scoring her first goals of the tournament to propel her side to a 2-1 win against China PR in the third place playoff on Sunday.

Her goals in the 13th and 84th minutes meant the 2009 AFC U-16 Women’s Championship winners qualified for the FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup Dominican Republic 2024.

Japan's Miharu Shinjo named Most Valuable Player

Bali: Miharu Shinjo was named the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup™ Indonesia 2024 Most Valuable Player on Sunday. 

Kickstarting her tournament with a goal against Thailand, Shinjo also scored in the next game against Australia before grabbing a brace in the semi-final win against China PR. 

She also created three chances for her teammates but suffered a heartbreaking 1-0 defeat to DPR Korea in the final.

DPR Korea's Jon Il Chong wins Yili Top Goalscorer

Bali: Jon Il Chong picked up the Yili Top Goalscorer award after a sparkling performance at the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup™ Indonesia 2024 that saw her finishing with six goals.

Jon scored the only goal in the final as DPR Korea defeated Japan, adding to her earlier five strikes.

Bali: Pak Ju Gyong was named the Best Goalkeeper following DPR Korea’s 1-0 win over Japan in the AFC U17 Women’s Asian Cup™ Indonesia 2024 final on Sunday.

Pak, who had four clean sheets enroute to the final, produced a sparkling display to keep Japan at bay.

The 2009 AFC U-16 Women’s Championship winners were made to sweat by China PR in the third place playoff on Sunday before eventually carving out a 2-1 win at the Captain I Wayan Dipta Stadium.
