Seven Series to Swoon Over Once You’re Done with Bridgerton | Oliver-Heber Books

Hello Lovely Readers

If you’ve found yourself here, odds are you have a fondness for a certain Regency-Era Drama that dropped today. Maybe you’ve been planning your watch-party for weeks. Maybe you’ve already made your way through half of the season so far. Or maybe, you’re planning to savor it like the tension lingering in every frame of a well-shot dance sequence. (You know what we’re talking about.)

Of course, you may have misclicked and have no clue how you found yourself here. In which case, we invite you to stay. There may be something here for you yet.

Well, whatever brought you here, we’re happy to present you with a list of seven series that are bound to scratch that Historical Romance itch once the screen goes black. They’re filled with rakes, scoundrels, and fiery heroines that’ll get your summer off to a sizzling start.

First up, we have Master of My Dreams by Danelle Harmon. (And, if we may be so bold, we should let you know up front that the one and only Julia Quinn, New York Times Bestselling Author of The Bridgertons, once said of Danelle Harmon that she was “One of my all-time favorite authors!” Of course, she’s one of our favorites, too.)

Sweeping from the shores of England to Boston on the eve of the American Revolution, this is the emotional and unforgettable story of a tough Royal Navy captain and the beautiful Irish stowaway who teaches him how to love again.

Also, if you keep your eyes on it this weekend, you’ll be able to nab a copy of the ebook free from 5/17-5/19.

The next book we have for you is Improper by Darcy Burke.

Welcome to the Phoenix Club, where London’s most audacious, disreputable, and intriguing ladies and gentlemen find scandal, redemption, and second chances. Dissolute rogue Tobias Powell, Earl of Overton, has just inherited a sheltered, proper young ward for whom he must find a husband. And that is only the start of his problems.

Of course, if you’re impatient and you want to grab all of the Phoenix Club books at once, we just released an ebook box set of the first four, and have one for the second half of the series set to release next Tuesday (5/21).

Never Trust a Scoundrel is our next pick and it’s the perfect tantalizing tale for someone who can’t get enough of that tension that Gayle Callen is so masterful at building.

When Grace Banbury’s mother put her up as a prize in a high stakes card game, Grace never thought a gentleman would claim her. But Daniel Throckmorten, a rake from a scandalous family, knows what he wants. He can’t deny his attraction for the unwilling beauty, so he proposes an enticing wager: he will use all his charm and wit to seduce her into his bed…and she only has to resist. If she succeeds, she wins enough funds to secure her own future. If he wins…she’ll be his…

If you’re in the mood for a couple that defies societal expectations, try Love on the Line by Anabelle Bryant. Eagle-eyed readers may also notice that it has a brand new cover!

When Lola York meets Theodore Coventry, Earl of Essex, their chemistry is undeniable, but she knows better than to yearn for forbidden love. That is, until their involvement becomes unavoidable and Lola realizes the most dangerous risk of all is the one that threatens her heart.

What about a good Secret Identity story? Odds on the Rake by Sofie Darling might just be the book for you.

Gemma Cassidy is the daughter of an earl—on the wrong side of the blanket. To make her way in the world, and escape her abusive father, Gemma will have to get her hands dirty. Masquerading as a stableboy, she realizes she isn’t only spying on the best horseracing stable in England, but the most magnificent duke in the land.

Plus, if you’re reading this before 5/23 you’ll find it’s on sale for 99 cents! And if you fall in love with Sofie Darling’s writing like we have, you’ll be thrilled to know the third book in this series, Wager with a Siren, will be out on 6/4 and is already up for preorder.

On the flip side we have Viscount Overboard by Misty Urban. This time, with no memory of his past, it’s the hero who’s identity is secret from himself.

When the war-scarred Viscount Penrydd washes up in 1799 Newport minus his memory, Gwenllian ap Ewyas decides not to tell him he owns, and threatened to sell, the property on which she’s made a refuge for her and other lost souls. But as shadows from both their pasts appear at St. Sefin’s, Gwen risks losing her livelihood, her home, and her heart when Penrydd learns just how far she’s gone to deceive him.

And, if you do enjoy this one, you’ll be happy to know that, as of a few weeks ago, there are now three books in this series. The Painter Takes an Earl came out 5/7.

Finally, we have The Earl’s Hoyden by Madeline Martin. This one has the added perk of being on all platforms, if you’re not a Kindle person.

Miss Hannah Bexley is a friend to everyone and would be the perfect bride, if only she wasn’t such a hoyden. Perhaps that is why no man has made an offer of marriage…That is until she’s approached by the Earl of Brightstone to assist him in becoming more appealing in his search for a wife. She readily agrees. After all, they would never suit. But hearts have a way of defying even the most pedantic minds and opposites often create the brightest sparks…

Okay! That’s it for us today, and if you enjoyed this and are always looking for your next book, this is actually the first in our new OHB Summer Reads series! Keep your eyes on this space and we’ll be back with more recommendations soon.
