Ugh! Which to choose?!

Question

🫤 So I am writing a song. Literally..building from 6 words and a concept I had all day.

It's cheesy and sleazy. 80s glam/shock rock.

Well. I have a problem.

One extention did a funny thing and perfectly dropped the "beat". Its perfect. And makes the sing even cringier than it already is. 🤷‍♂️ 80s glam rock, you know.

Then the latest hit the exact same lyric exactly how I had it in my head!...

How does one choose between pleasantly perfect(and funny) surprise and the one that is EXACTLY what you had in mind?

I feel this is an alternate version scenario. Lol

Do both.

These 2 are about the exact same thing, but I liked them both so much that I turned them both into songs.

You lucky lucky b@$tard. You have two different avenues to explore. Explore extensions on each and you’ll work it out from there

Lol. Yeah. If one is going to have a dilemma, may as well be something like this.

On one song i did, I accidentally extended a version that had an outro that had faded out. The 2 new extentions faded in to something I liked, so I made 2 new songs out of them

I feel this is an alternate version scenario

That sounds like the perfect solution. Identical titles, except (alt version) appended to one of the songs. I've noticed some published songs where the creator has appended (radio edit). I don't know whether that indicates arbitrarily applied labeling. Is there a formal set of parameters, a convention, for labeling something as "radio edit"?

Yeah. Definitely gotta use alt version.

"Radio edit" is the version of a song played on the radio or for more uptight stations. Both in regard to explicit or potentially offensive lyrics..or context.

Someone could use it for humor, but it has a legitimate use.

Not everything note "alt versions". Such as "Nightmare on Mystreet"....also one of Bobby Brown's. Cant recall which I gave up looking for the version with the rap breakdown. 😆

Hmm, a minute after posting that I tried to edit and paste the following.
Maybe I clicked Cancel instead of Save after editing?

dear chatGTP: What does it mean when a song title includes (Radio Edit)?

A song title that includes "(radio edit)" indicates that the song has been modified or edited in some way to make it more suitable for airplay on commercial radio stations. Radio edits are alternative versions of songs that have been remixed and edited to meet certain criteria for radio play. These edits are typically made to shorten longer tracks, remove explicit or offensive content, adjust the subject matter, or modify the instrumentation or form of the song.

Radio edits are created to comply with the rules and regulations set by radio stations regarding language, content, and length. They are designed to make the song more radio-friendly and appealing to a wider audience.

heh, I have one labelled "radio edit" but it just has a "This is American top 40" style spoken intro at the start. :)

The other thing you could do, if you already made music before udio, is pull both tracks into your DAW and splice them together.

Hah. I remember when normal radio was a thing.

Ive thought about a spoken intro akin to Rob Zombie's movie quotes.

I dabbled with an audio/music program ages ago. But theres noting to splice. The tracks are the exact same. Only difference is how the same line.

One. It goes "...All you can do is look((music does cheesy dip/slow down)) but don't touch"

The other. Music stays the same..and the whole "band" shouts "BUT DON'T TOUCH"....

And for context and subject both are perfect. 😆

They're extentions of the same...thread?🤷‍♂️

Alternate version. Or use a program like fruity loops to use them both in some kind of mix.
