About the game

The Dynamo, who are seventh in the Western Conference with 17 points, one point ahead of Austin FC, are coming off their most compete performance of the MLS season, according to coach Ben Olsen. Héctor Herrera scored his first goal and Griffin Dorsey recorded his first assist on leading scorer Aliyu Ibrahim’s game-winner in Saturday’s 2-1 win over Sporting Kansas City to snap a three-game winless and scoreless streak that started with a 1-0 home loss against Austin FC on April 20 in the first match of a three-game regular season series. The pair became the sixth and seventh Dynamo players to be named to MLSsoccer.com's Team of the Matchday. Austin FC is coming off a 2-1 loss against FC Dallas to snap a three-game unbeaten streak.

Player to watch

Amine Bassi has yet to score a goal this regular season but hasn’t struggled to make an impact offensively. Bassi, who was the Dynamo’s top league scorer with 12 goals and four assists last year, collected his team-leading fourth assist on a first-half goal by Herrera against Sporting KC. Bassi is currently in the top five league-wide in key passes and shot-creating actions per 90 minutes plus 13th in progressive passes. The 26-year-old midfielder hasn’t found the back of the net since a 1-1 draw against Real Salt Lake in round one of the playoffs last Nov. Diego Rubio and Sebastián Driussi lead Austin FC in league scoring with three goals apiece.
