MURDERISH has entirely too many commercials. I know other podcasts have commercials too, if you're not paying to watch the podcast.
Discussion
But MURDERISH seems to have way more commercials than any other podcast I've ever listened to.

Too many ads is enough to make me unsubscribe. Saw it happen with a few.
Same. I stopped listening to Kendall Rae and Sarians Dark History for this reason.
One break was like 10 min long I kid you not. I listened after hearing a feed drop from another show and liked it at first, but she repeats episodes too frequently, probably to put new ads on them. Not a fan.
I thought the same about Southern Fried True Crime. Listened to one episode and it was interesting, but 4 ad breaks in a 60 minute podcast? It seems in poor taste and it was all ad reads so it was difficult to figure out when to stop fast forwarding
That's how I feel about most iheart podcasts. 3 ad breaks several minutes long, plus another at the end. Completely ridiculous. Especially since they are all exactly the same. I really really have to want to listen to one of their podcasts before I will download it.
How many minutes and how many ads?
I didnt' time it, but there were a lot and they had commercials frequently.
I actually thought this the other day. That she has doubled the time of the ad blocks and/or added an additional one. It certainly seems to have more than before. But it’s free, so 🤷♀️
Same with cold case files.
I stopped listening because it was so ridiculous.
The unpaid version of Opportunist just would start a commercial in the middle of Hannah Smith talking in the early seasons. It’s awful.
how are the credits? nothing annoys me more than 4 minutes of credits at the end. "Jenny was our intern. For Wondery + the assistant executives were Jane McAvoy and Steve Schiller." WE DONT CARE lol. When you buy a sixpack of beer does the label have a credit for who the bottlers were and who designed the Budweiser logo?
Fast forward thru the commercials?
I definitely do this with some podcasts but there was one (I can’t remember the name) that was FULL of ads. Like every 5-10 minutes of this podcast were a tons of ads. I think after 1 episode I tried one more and just gave up because I didn’t want to deal with it. See the thing is I’m a chemist and I listen to podcasts while ai work. Much of the time I can’t pull my phone out to fast forward through ads. And that’s fine if they happen here and there but when they are that frequent, it just turns me off to the podcast.
This is why I pay for Premium on YouTube. I “watch” most of my podcast subscriptions on YouTube to avoid commercials. Using YT Music for as many as I can creates a list and tools that mimic the Google podcast player before its demise makes it pretty simple.
YouTube is getting out of hand. I was putting on an old history channel show to go to bed to and there were ads nearly 3 hours. Obviously I skipped but just gave up and went back to Spotify with something else.
