We will be in Peru in August going to Machu Picu. Is purified water available? Also what is the weather like in August?

Yes, purified water is readily available everywhere and the the weather is great - blue skies and sunshine and cold at night. Come prepared with the right clothes - layers are the way to go as there will be a significant change in temperatures throuought the day and night - don forget the sun hat an sun glasses, The sun is very strong at those altitudes

Bottled water that you can request in glass, now regarding the weather, the month of August is a little cold in the mornings, sunny at midday and the afternoons wind, august is known as the month of the wind.

Worth mentioning that I was unable find a drinking water fountain or similar to fill a reusable water bottle in Lima airport. Similar deal at Cusco arrivals.

Only option is to buy your own bottles of water, boil your own water or use purification tablets or whatever is needed.

Airports probably won’t have water stations as there probably is not much call for them as most will be passing though , however many, if not most accommodations in Lima and Cusco will have water stations or purified water readily available. Always good to take a reusable bottle to save on plastic waste ( of which there is a LOT IN Peru)
