Frank S. Fox

June 1920 ~ June 2004

Frank Fox, resident of Petaluma, passed away on June 15th, 2004 in Marin County. Frank was born in 1920 in San Francisco. He attended Mission High School in San Francisco and joined the U.S. Army in 1939. He served from 1939-1944 and was stationed in Dutch Harbor in the Aleutian Islands during World War II where he attained the rank of Master Sergeant.

He married Virginia Smith of Louisville, Kentucky in 1945. Frank drove a Yellow Cab in San Francisco for five years. The family moved to Mill Valley in 1951 where Frank worked for Colonial Bakery delivering fresh baked goods to homes in southern Marin. He was a real estate broker for over 35 years, beginning his career with Brockmann Realty in Mill Valley.

Frank’s greatest passion was riding motorcycles, which he enjoyed for almost 70 years. Most recently, he rode with the Oakmont Angels out of Santa Rosa. He was the original owner of a 1956 T-Bird and he was past president of the Bay Area Thunderbird Club and belonged to the Thunderbirds of Sonoma. He was an officer of the Disabled American Veterans Petaluma Chapter, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars and American Legion.

Frank is survived by his daughter, Deborah Marie Fox, granddaughter, Alexandra Fox, nephew, Frank Villalon (Doreen), niece Susie Yoshizaki (Tashi), and several great nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his sister, Gloria Villalon, brother-in-law, Robert Villalon and nephew, Daniel Villalon.

Family and friends are invited to meet at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 19th, 2004 at Mount Tamalpais Mortuary, followed by a caravan to Cypress Hill Cemetery, 430 Magnolia Avenue, in Petaluma for a Graveside Service at 1:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Frank’s name may be made to Hospice of Marin, 150 Nellen Avenue, Corte Madera, CA 94925, Veterans of Foreign Wars, or the Disabled American Veterans.
