Sarah Jessica Parker is proof you don’t always have to sacrifice comfort for style.

Case in point: The actress shared an Instagram snap from the set of And Just Like That... on Monday afternoon, showing off some ultra-stylish sandals with a low wooden heel. And though they may give you flashbacks to those beautiful-but-deadly Candie's heels of the 1980s (#TBT), they're actually the way comfier, but equally iconic, Dr. Scholl's Original Sandals ($120). You might remember the style, which debuted in 1959, as the classic exercise sandal—featuring a contoured footbed designed to engage your leg muscles as you walk. SJP certainly does, considering she was spotted wearing the same classic clogs way back in 2002...while filming an episode of Sex and the City no less. In that case, who better to bring back these beauties than Carrie Bradshaw herself?

The actress paired her retro shoes with a flowy, vintage dress, a floppy, oversized "cloud hat" and casual tote bag for her day of filming. And while her headpiece certainly made quite a statement, her footwear is what really stole the show in my eyes. Per the brand, the modern iteration of the sandals boast a cushioned insole meant to provide arch support and comfort—which is what we've all come to expect from Dr. Scholl's. In fact, one buyer even says they're great for her plantar fasciitis.

But that's not to say they're any less effective than the OG exercise sandals. Just take it from this reviewer who writes, "I wore these shoes in the '70s in my teens and 20s. As I’ve aged, this specific style has really forced me to walk slower and stand taller, just by the how I have to position my feet on the shoes. I took this factor of the style for granted when I was younger [but] I really appreciate it as I've aged and my posture is not the best."

Aside from their chic style, timelessness and promise of comfort (and better posture), what I love most about the Original Sandals is their dedication to sustainability. They are crafted with an artisanal beachwood clog sole, certified by the Forest Stewardship Council, along with a leather upper that's responsibly sourced through Leather Working Group-certified tanneries. What’s more, there are four different color options to choose from (I'm personally fond of the fire-engine red leather), and the buckle detail on the upper is indeed adjustable, so you can get the perfect fit.

Looking at the style and functionality of this shoe, I see exactly why Carrie Bradshaw—ahem—Sarah Jessica Parker is still rocking them after all these years. Whether you're ready to revisit the style yourself or give it a whirl for the first time, consider this your excuse to grab a pair.
