Baseball Loses Game Two Against UC Davis

FULLERTON, Calif. – Cal State Fullerton baseball lost to UC Davis in game two of the series Saturday evening at Goodwin Field by a final score of 7-3. The Titans drop to 14-33 on the year and 5-18 in conference play. 

UC Davis took an early 5-0 lead after putting up a five-spot in the top half of the second inning. The Aggies scored all five runs with two outs on the board. 

The Titans answered with two runs in the home half of the second inning on a two-run home run by Jack Haley, his first of the season. 

Maddox Latta hit a solo home run in the bottom of the third inning to cut the deficit to 5-3. Latta has a tied for team-high five home runs this season. 

Fullerton had a great opportunity to tie or take the lead in the eighth inning with the bases loaded and two outs but were unable to push a run across.

UC Davis all but sealed the game in the top of the ninth inning on a two-run home run by Tyler Howard to extend its lead to 7-3. 

The Titans look to stave off a series sweep in game three against UC Davis Sunday afternoon at Goodwin Field. First pitch is set for 1:00 p.m.
