Chief HR Officer Eric Minvielle to retire from Mars; Rebecca Snow appointed as successor

McLean, VA (May 8, 2024) — Mars, Incorporated announces that after four decades with the business, Global Vice President for People & Organization (Mars Chief Human Resources Officer) Eric Minvielle will retire at the end of the year.

Eric Minvielle

Eric has had a remarkable journey at Mars since joining in France in March 1984. During his impressive career with the business, Eric has led various business functions across all continents (except Antarctica), moving 12 times and living in five countries. In his last role, Eric was instrumental in strengthening the company’s talent bench, accelerating the I&D journey and building the capabilities Mars needs now and in the future. Throughout his career, Eric has developed strong relationships with Associates from all parts of the business and been a trusted thought partner.

Mars CEO Poul Weihrauch said, “Eric leaves a legacy of making Mars a place people want to join, stay and grow. He helped the business expand into what it is today, leading through complex changes, uncertainty and acquisitions. One of his most notable contributions was the role he played in the acquisition of Royal Canin, a business unit he subsequently ran in the Americas. We are incredibly grateful for all that Eric has done to advocate for our Associates and help our business grow, always using the collective strength of the Mars Five Principles. I will miss working with Eric but I’m lucky to have him as a lifelong friend.“

Rebecca Snow

Eric will be succeeded by Rebecca Snow as the new Global Vice President for People & Organization (P&O). In her new role, Rebecca will report directly to Poul Weihrauch and sit on the Mars Leadership Team, based in McLean, Virginia.

Rebecca is currently Vice President P&O for Mars Snacking based in Chicago, Illinois. She started her career with Mars at Pedigree Petfoods in the U.K. In her almost 30 years with the business, she’s gained broad experience across functions, business units, and geographies.  In her current role, she helped transform Mars Snacking through talent and capability acceleration, as well as mindset and behavior change – playing a critical role in the segment’s strong performance over the past few years.

Poul Weihrauch said: “I am very pleased to share that we are appointing Rebecca Snow as Eric’s successor. Rebecca is particularly passionate about fostering a culture of belonging and creating sustainable growth through people development. She brings great perspective and sets high standards for intellectual curiosity and personal accountability. I am excited about welcoming Rebecca to the Mars Leadership Team.”

Rebecca will begin transitioning into role in July and take on full responsibilities starting October 1st. Eric will be with the company through end of year to ensure a best-in-class transition.
