From a lore perspective, Caria Manor would be the most expensive area to live in as it stands as a testament to wealth, privilege, and exclusivity. Its sprawling gardens host rare flora, tended by skilled gardeners who whisper secrets to the roses. That’s the area where all the richest people are going to live.

Another one of the most expensive areas would be the Altus Plateau since it’s the side of a mountain. With a location like that, the living expenses and the property rate will be high. One reasonable area to live in would be Liurnia which is basically Florida, with cheaper home prices and outrageous insurance due to flooding.

Reddit user Eyepokelowblowcombo sparked the conversation among the players about the housing prices in Elden Ring. He personally thinks that the weeping peninsula would be one of the hidden gems of a city to live in as it can both be affordable and will have good safety. Another expensive area would be Lyndell, which is the Royal Capital and can be like a modern-day Los Angeles.

The Two Off-Limits Areas

In Lands Between, there are many areas where players would be able to live easily but these are the 2 areas which should be off-limits:

  1. Caelid: The cursed city of Caelid lies eastward, shrouded in perpetual twilight. Its streets echo with the wails of forgotten souls, and its crumbling mansions house malevolent spirits. No amount of gold can buy safety here.
  2. Farum Azula: This is another off-limit area as it is a crumbling city overrun by skeletal beasts which can even breathe fire. This place is a safety hazard and no normal people would wanna live here.

As Elden Ring fans debate the best place to live, the rich and powerful flock to Caria Manor, seeking refuge from the chaos. But remember: even in the lap of luxury, the Tarnished must tread carefully. For in the Lands Between, wealth alone cannot shield you from the abyss.
