Meddy Breaks YouTube Record, Surpasses Diamond Platnumz

Renowned artist Ngabo Medard, famously known as Meddy, has set a new record on YouTube, becoming the first Rwandan artist to have a music video reach 100 million views. This accomplishment also places him as the third artist in East Africa to achieve this milestone with a solo effort.
Despite embarking on a new journey in gospel music, Meddy continues to break records both in Rwanda and across East Africa. His hit song "Slowly," which has been on YouTube for six years, recently surpassed 100 million views, further solidifying his status as a trailblazer in the region.
"Slowly" is now the third solo song by an East African artist to reach this remarkable view count on YouTube. It follows "Jeje" by Diamond Platnumz, which has 96 million views in four years. Leading the pack is Zuchu with her song "Sukari," followed by DRC’s Fally Ipupa.
In addition to this achievement, "Slowly" stands out as the most-watched Rwandan music video on YouTube, surpassing all other local productions.
Meddy's record-breaking feats don’t end there. He also holds the record in Rwanda for the most views in a single day, with his song "My Vow" reaching one million views within 24 hours. This song gained immense popularity following his wedding, resonating deeply with fans.
