SWAT Recap

Several cops were now dead. The ecoterrorists known as Green Rebellion claimed responsibility. They made a video on social media. They were also still at large. They’ve rearmed themselves and they could be anywhere. Commander Hicks called in everyone. He even called in Deac who was supposed to be retired.

The whole city was on lockdown because Green Rebellion stole a bunch of explosives from the Sun Valley Mining site. They were being led by Zane Graham. He was the only kidnapper that the cops failed to catch after they rescued a billionaire’s son.

He must have been dating the woman the cops killed because he posted a video online promising retribution in her name.

Her name was Eliza by the way. Zane went off the rails after she died. He joined up with a group of radicals that didn’t care about the environment. Not like the original Green Rebellion did. They just cared about causing mass destruction. Zane was now of that mindset as well. His post on social media discussed a war.

He wanted to destroy the people that killed his girlfriend. He didn’t care if anyone else got in the way. He wanted to take down the whole government. He and his buddies hid their faces when they fled the mining site.

The guy sent off the bomb had a knee replacement. They found a screw in his knee that didn’t get destroyed by the fire. It wasn’t in the American database. LAPD reached out to the FBI and they identified the screw as belonging to Karl Gore. Gore was a Dutch radical. He and Zane go way back.

They started an Anti-imperialist group known as AIM. The two men were committing terrorist attacks in Europe before Zane met Eliza. He gave up his more extreme views of toppling governments to support her eco-friendly agenda.

Zane then returned to those views when he saw what Eliza’s did to her. He was back with his AIM friends.

They flew in from Europe to support him and the cops were scrambling to find out what their next target will be. Plus, Tan was still being incredibly rude to Alfaro. Alfaro didn’t take Hondo’s shooting seriously.

Tan misconstrued that as Alfaro hoping to push Hondo out to replace him. Alfaro explained himself and that still didn’t get Tan to back off. Alfaro was offered a job on the team. He turned it down because he didn’t want to be around Tan.

Alfaro was good people. He helped them track down Green Rebellion once before. He was the first to identify Zane and Eliza as a couple. He was good with tech. The team needed him and Tan was so spiteful that he couldn’t see that Alfaro was the best they could get.

The high school drama was getting to Powell. She spoke with Tan. She told him that Alfaro was a good cop. He’s all in whenever he rides with the team. Tan said that wasn’t enough. He said Alfaro wasn’t a good enough replacement for Luca or Street or Chris.

Tan was looking for perfection because that’s how he saw his friends. Powell said she wasn’t part of the original team. She joined after and she wasn’t looking to replace anyone. Tan was holding onto an illusion he has of his friends. They weren’t perfect. Street almost got bounced.

Chris struggled with addiction. Luca was constantly in London the last few years. His team has stopped being a team for a while now. Tan needs to let go. Powell told him it would be best to just let go. Hondo was barely hanging on the team.

Hondo was considering ending the team altogether. Both Tan and Powell would make for great leaders. Hondo doesn’t know what his future would be like and so he was considering all his options. He told Commander Hicks as much.

SWAT were able to track down a few of the AIM people. They found them at a convention center and they captured one alive while killing the other. They didn’t have the explosives. The surviving man later said that Zane has a plan to bring the city of Los Angeles to its knees.

Eliza acted as Zane’s leash when she was alive. Now he was prepared to kill millions. They found out he was interested in the Packlink Pipeline.

The pipeline runs all throughout the city. It was all fuel. One explosion alone was enough to set the whole thing on fire. The city could get reshaped by the terrorist attack. Deac stayed on with the team to find Zane.

FBI Special Agent Jackie Vasquez also pulled away from her safe desk job to help out her old friends. They all rode out together. Hondo said he doesn’t know what tomorrow looks like, but they had to save the city while they still could.

The team found out where Zane was going to set his bomb. They raced to the scene. Tan disarmed the bomb with Alfaro’s help. They killed most of Zane’s friends. Zane was going to get away again when he jumped into an oil tanker to drive off.

He didn’t know at first that Hondo jumped on the back of his getaway vehicle. It wasn’t until the helicopter started following them that he realized they were going to stop him. Hondo strapped a detonator to the oil tanker. He had his friends in the helicopter pick him up.

And they watched the bomb kill off Zane as well as the rest of his supply.

Zane was gone. The city was safe. Deac realized that he wants to un-retire. He misses the job. The wife even heard it in his voice when they talked and so her sister was going to act as their nanny. This will free up Deac to keep working with SWAT. And Alfaro can now join the team since he made peace with Tan.

Hondo got his team back. He went home. He talked with his dad about his dad being unable to accept his job as a cop and so that’s when Pop showed Hondo a press clipping. It was of Hondo.

It was from his first week on the job as a cop. Pop has been holding onto that because he was proud of his son. He just didn’t know how to show it.

The End!
