Discussion

Even though Sarah and Chris were only friends during elementary school and only did superficial things together, like ride the swing set, play hide and seek, and roller skate, why was Chris so obsessed with Sarah Hammer for years after he no longer saw her or hanged out with her? Everyone goes through that phase in their life when they realize that the people in school who they thought they were "friends" with weren't actually their friends and just acquaintances in hindsight your realized that you only hanged out with them because of attending the same school and they weren't there for your for both good AND bad times.

Furthermore, why did Chris continue to like Sarah despite her bullying Chris and endangering Chris through dangerous pranks, like locking Chris in the crawlspace under her house or telling him to put a honeysuckle (which the berries part of it are poisonous to consume) in his mouth? A real friend won't try to put you in harm's way OR not contact you for several years.

So was Sarah Hammer a bad person? Or just a normal person who went through a weird bully phase? According to the CWCKI:

"When Chris entered the crawlspace, Sarah locked him in and left. Eventually, Sarah's father had to come and get him out."

"Sarah also tried to convince Chris to put a honeysuckle in his mouth. Specifically the tip, which is sometimes alleged to be poisonous. Chris almost fell for this one, but his parents caught him and warned him of its "dangers."

I get that kids do stupid stunts, as I have done a few stupid but harmless stunts as a little kid, like tricking someone with fake poo or fake money. But locking a child into the crawlspace under your house or trying to persuade a special needs kid to put a strange plant in their mouths is NOT normal or harmless as that is straight up psychopathic behavior as Chris could have easily gotten hurt or died of dehydration or suffocation. These acts of bullying remind me of that psychotic sister of Drake and Josh's from the show Drake and Josh or that orphan girl Esther from that movie Orphan.

I'm honestly surprised Barb and Bob didn't try to pursue legal action against Sarah Hammer and her family for locking Chris under her home or trying to trick him into putting a poisonous plant in his mouth. Why allow the person ,who tried to trick your child into putting a poisonous plant in their mouth or locking them under your house, to visit them during Christmas?

Happy mother's day

Chris was obsessed with any girl who acknowledged he existed. He's had so few friends that his idea of decent friendship is messed up.

As far his parents suing her parents, come on.... They were kids playing. Not even 10 years old, sure the behaviour was mean but kids playing sometimes get stupid and mean. Very few people are going to sue over a potential poisoning that didn't happen.

At that age you talk to the parents, you don't sue them
