He was predeceased by : his parents, Leon Mitchell and Frances Mitchell; his grandparents, Alex and Eddie Mae Johnson; his siblings, Leon Mitchell, Eleanor Jean-Whitaker and Farrah "Bell" Johnson; and his aunt Manola Blackburn (Johnny).

He is survived by : his wife Nora Mitchell; his children, Tara Lomack-Jenkins, LeRoy Mitchell Jr. and Eddie Ray Nichols (Chellie); his grandchildren, Jasmine Walton, Nika Jackson, Ashley, Dominique Nichols, Michael Walton Jr. and Shawn Jackson; his great grandchildren, A'Zari Ellis-Jones, Bella Moffet, Makiyla Walton, Adarius Jones and J'lanii Arroyo; his aunt Cynthia Johnson Banks (Curtis); his sister-in-law Dorothy Taylor (Clyde); his goddaughters, Ayhesha Pryor and Chikea Lomack; his sisters, Brenda Donahue (Maurice), Tina Wellington (Johnny), Lisa Bradd and Karen Thomas; his nieces, Selena Lomack and Annette Whitaker-Woods (Maurice); his nephew Sean Moore; and his friends, Arthur (Lite), Smith (Barbara) and Darell Walker. He is also survived by great grandchildren.

A wake was held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Wilson Funeral Home - Racine (1212 Lathrop Ave, Racine, WI 53405). A celebration of life was held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 at the Wilson Funeral Home (1212 Lathrop Ave, Racine, WI 53405).
