Whitburn welcomes return of Colin on trombone

Whitburn Band has announced the signing of Colin Buchanan on second trombone.

Colin brings a wealth of experience to the band having performed with Whitburn before, along with periods at Unison Kinneil and Newtongrange Silver.

He has played on some of the biggest stages in banding including the British Open, the National Brass Band Championships of Great Britain and the European Brass Band Championships.

Colin replaces Emma Close who leaves Whitburn after a successful spell to concentrate further on her studies at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland.

Whitburn chairman Charlie Farren said: “We thank Emma for all her hard work with the band and wish her well as she continues her studies. We also welcome Colin; he will be a great addition to the trombone team.”
