Jordana Brewster is thankful she gave love a second chance with her husband, Mason Morfit.

The Fast & Furious star married Morfit in September 2022 and the couple now parent a blended family of six children from their previous marriages. This includes Brewster's two sons with her former husband, Andrew Form: Julian, born in 2013, and Rowan, born in 2016.

Brewster first met Morfit at a business lunch while still married to her then husband. However, it wasn't until a chance reconnection years later in San Francisco, just four days after Brewster had separated from her ex-husband of 13 years, that their story took a romantic turn.

"When I landed, Mason was at the bottom of the escalator, holding a sign with my name on it. My heart was fluttering like a hummingbird. I felt at once super panicked but also strangely grounded," she recalled. "Mason and I blended into each other. I thought, Please kiss me. And he did."

The couple’s relationship quickly evolved, with the actress saying from that day on she began seeing Morfit regularly and they were “thinking about how to blend our families."

The pair was first spotted holding hands on a stroll in Los Angeles in July 2021. He proposed to Brewster shortly after in September 2021 and even included her puppy in the proposal. They got married a year later.

When asked about how Morfit makes her feel, the actress told PEOPLE in 2021, “One of the things that I really love about our relationship is that we're growing together. And that he pushes me to be better, and I push him to be better."

He grew up in India and Indonesia and is the son of a diplomat

Morfit's spent his childhood growing up in India and Indonesia, where he lived because one of his parent's diplomatic role with the United States Department of State.

He later settled in the U.S., attending the prestigious Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C., an institution known for educating children of political figures, including Chelsea Clinton and Malia and Sasha Obama.

After his formative years at Sidwell Friends, Morfit continued his education at Princeton University, where he laid the groundwork for his career in finance.

He is the CEO of ValueAct Capital

Morfit is the CEO of ValueAct Capital, an investment firm that specializes in managing more than $16 billion in assets. He stepped into the CEO role in January 2020 after a long tenure at the company that began when he was just 25 years old.

Before his involvement with ValueAct Capital, Morfit gained experience at Credit Suisse First Boston, where he worked in the healthcare group.

He met Brewster at a business lunch

Morfit first met Brewster at a business lunch attended by several people, including the Fast franchise actress and her ex-husband. Their initial brief encounter didn't lead to an immediate connection, as Brewster recalled to Vogue, "There were about 15 people at a lunch in Park City, and we never said a word to each other."

Despite the lack of interaction, this meeting planted the seeds for the future as they began following each other on social media. Brewster said that she found the CEO to be "very witty and charming."

Their relationship blossomed four days after Brewster and her ex-husband decided to separate. Brewster flew to San Francisco during the pandemic to see Morfit, marking the beginning of their romantic journey.

"After we were both divorced, I flew to San Francisco during the pandemic to see him, and that was it,” she stated. From that point on, the couple started seeing each other regularly and began considering how to blend their families.

They got married in 2022

The couple celebrated their union with a southern California wedding on Sept. 3, 2022. The wedding included a stylish homage to Brewster's iconic film series, Fast & Furious, as it featured a lineup of cars. The guest list included notable actors from the franchise, with attendees like Ludacris, Vin Diesel and Paul Walker's daughter, Meadow.

When planning the wedding, the actress wanted it to be full of personal touches, saying, "There's not going to be anything impersonal about it."

She also wanted to include her two sons in the ceremony, adding, "I think Rowan's going to do something musical and Julian's going to give a speech of some sort.”

They have a blended family with six children from former marriages

Morfit plays guitar and is in a band

Morfit is not only a fan of music, he also plays guitar in a band called Birdseed. Founded with friends bassist George Bolton and drummer Scott Bell, the band has evolved beyond just jam sessions to performing publicly and even releasing an EP titled Not Out of Time in 2017 featuring classic rock covers.

Birdseed has gained recognition within the local music scene, and they’ve even opened for established acts like Nathaniel Rateliff.
