Dirawongs host Magpies in crucial clash

Northern United will host the Lower Clarence Magpies at Oakes Oval on Saturday.

The match was originally scheduled for Crozier Field but due to the wet conditions, the match has been transferred to Oakes Oval.

It is Round 7 of the NRRRL competition and the Dirawongs have only played 3 matches due to a bye and continuing wet weather.

In a crucial match, the side is currently sitting in 4th position after 2 wins and a narrow loss to competition leaders Byron Bay, and will look to stay in touch with the top sides.

The potent combination of Tyrone Roberts and James Roberts have been a welcome addition to the club.

Hezekiah McKenzie has continued his strong 2023 form this season, with 4 tries and sitting second on the point score ladder with 36 points in just 3 matches so far this season.

The United forward pack has been impressive to date, laying a platform for the slick backline to shine.

Matches for U/18's, Reserve Grade and First Grade will make a great spectacle at Oakes Oval for the Dirawongs first home game of the season.

In other matches, Marist Brothers will head north to Bilambil to take on the Jets on Sunday.
