UCLA women’s gymnastics

The UCLA women’s gymnastics team, formally known as UCLA Gymnastics, completed its 2024 season at the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) Regional competition in the second round. With many triumphs of the past season and new additions to the team for the next season, the gymnastics team presents athletic excellence at UCLA. According to the UCLA Athletics news page, the UCLA women’s gymnastic team completed their season in the NCAA second round with a score of 197.050, holding the third-place position behind Denver and Arizona State. 

However, individual athletes on the UCLA women’s gymnastics team progressed thereafter in competitions for the 2024 season. The UCLA Athletics news page notes that UCLA senior Chae Campbell and UCLA sophomore Selena Harris qualified for and attended the 2024 NCAA Gymnastics Championships in Texas. Based on a UCLA Athletics news page, Campbell competed as an individual for the floor exercise category, receiving a 9.9000 and ninth place overall; Harris competed as an individual for the balance beam category, receiving an overall score of 9.9500 (with perfect scores from two judges) and third place. With the UCLA women’s gymnastics team finishing the season and looking forward to the next one, three new athletes will join the UCLA Gymnastics team for the 2025 season. A UCLA Athletics news article introduced Level-10 gymnasts Bronwyn Hoffman, Riley Jenkins and Mika Webster-Longin to the team, all enrolling in the fall 2024. Alongside the UCLA women’s gymnastics team are the coaches and staff that guide the Bruin athletes. All 2023-2024 coaches’ biographies can be found on the UCLA Athletics gymnastics coach list by name. Janelle McDonald has been the R.C. Rothman UCLA head gymnastics coach for the UCLA team since May 9, 2022. The coaching team consists of McDonald and three assistant coaches: BJ Das, Kyle Grable and Autumn Grable. BJ Das completed her second full-time assistant coaching year during the 2023-2024 season. Kyle Grable finished his second season as an assistant coach during the same season, while Autumn Grable completed her first season as a full-time assistant coach.
